Just bought second hand xbox 360 and the console freezes everythime I try to play Army Of Two?

I cant even start the game without it freezing at the character selection or beginning of the story. is there something wrong with the console or the game. and do I need more gigs to play it? im not sure what the gig thing is.. iytts my first gaming console and my dad bought it.
