How to wear these dresses as everyday/casual attire without looking like a Stepford wife?

The link provided below will show examples of SHORT dresses that I would be interested in wearing on a daily basis for outings such as grocery store or going out for lunch, etc. Would this be overdressed for wearing to the grocery store and if so, how can I down dress these to be appropriate for everyday/casual wear without looking tacky but not looking perfect like a Stepford wife (somewhere in the middle)? I am not buy these exact dresses they are just examples. Thank you :)
