Is a ball gown too formal for princess cruises?

You will not feel out of place in a Ball Gown on a Princess Cruise during formal night. There will be some who arrive in Tuxedos and Ball Gowns but you would also feel equally comfortable in a pant-suit or cocktail dress. It is fun to dress up, but not necessary on most cruise lines. I would say 20% will be dressed elegantly. The other 80% will be in cocktail dresses for the ladies and Sport Coats for the gentleman on formal nights.
