Homecoming dance!! Please answerrr!! Easy 10 points?

Our school is having a "basketball homecoming" instead of the Sadie Hawkins dance tommorow. I really want to go and i already have a dress. I bought it for $65 and its GORGEOUS!!! The problem is, ive heard no one is going. Some of my friends arent going because they said its "stupid". And my sister is a senior and she said no seniors are going. And barely anyone in my grade is going. My own sister isnt even going and neither are any of her friends!! I dont want to go and there not be anyone there or be wayyy overdressed (if it somehow isnt a formal dance) or both. Our school hasnt been having a lot of hooplah about it like the first homecoming and on the announcements the only thng they say is "basketball homecoming dance is friday. Buy your ticket at lunch for five dollars". Should i go??? Im really in a tough situation. I dont want to not go and regret it but i wont know how many people are there until i get there.
