Do I have to clean my newly pierced frenum whenever I piss? How long to wait before I change to a shorter bar?

I pierced my own frenum (with a proper piercing needle and a titanium bar) and I was just wondering if I had to clean the piercing every time I pissed + how long shoud I wait before changing to a shorter bar? (I put a long enough bar in just incase it swells)
